Miami’s a hot spot for more than just nightlife and the pool scene! Here are a few Aussie lamb dishes we spotted on menus and social media from “the Magic City.”
Ghee Indian Kitchen (left)
Hands down one of the best things we ate this year was the smoked Aussie lamb necks at Ghee’s Design District location. Indian flavors, a long, slow cooking process, and a dynamite pairing with earthy chickpeas soaking up the juices. Get one before they run out! Oh, and everything else Chef Niven and his team do with lamb at Ghee is outstanding, too. You can’t lose.
The Dutch
Our mate Conor Hanlon made this dish famous – it’s comfort-food pasta at its finest, with a long, slow braised Aussie lamb ragu over pappardelle pasta, and sheep’s milk ricotta to keep it all in the family.
Don Deo Brewing Co. (right)
We love that these guys grind their own lamb burger from Australian lamb leg for their sliders; done up right with Arugula, feta, tomato confit, caramelized onions and Kalamata aioli. Perfect with one (or two) of their beers!
We’ve written about the “Head of the Shop” spice, ras al hanout, and why it’s amazing on our lamb. Chef Alex Olivier at the Kimpton Group’s Area 31 have it figured out, Australian lamb chops with ras el hanout sauce. Good onya chef!
The Grill on The Alley (right)
Gotta love how this Grill Concepts spot keeps it simple – a Santa Maria grill, Aussie Beef & Lamb Australian lamb rack with a mint demi glaze. Why mess with perfection?
La Fresa Francesa French
This Haileah, FL spot gives their Grilled Australian lamb chops the French treatment, with fennel, lentils de puy. We’ve seen them do it with shanks too!
